[teatime] Can Evangelion save the Japanese economy ?
Evangelion: 2.0 "You Can (Not) Advance" will release in 27/Jun/2009.
As you know, Japan is now in long recession. The recession strikes all kind of products/companies. The popularity of Evangelion:2.0 deeply attracts recession-hit companies. That's why Evangelion: 2.0 has massive tie-ups (^^).
Here's a list for the tie-ups/campaigns.
*UCC (Japanese coffee company)
UCC is a long running partner of Evangelion. For this movie, UCC makes special figures and special designed cans again.
*Panasonic
They have two campaigns.
One is Laptop-PC "Let's Note" tie-up (must see it!).
Two is Blu-ray disk present campaign for DIGA(Blu-ray disk recorder) buyers.
*NTT DoCoMo
offers a special NERV K-tai(mobile phone).
*Lawson(Convenience store)
offers special figures as lucky draw prise. Besides the figures, They sells lots of Evangelion goods(incl Nin-niku[garlic] noodle). The full products list is available here.
(AYANAMI Rei sometimes goes to Lawson for small shopping...)
*Hakone-cho
Hakone-cho is a small town, which is located in the western side of Kanto. It's well known for its hot springs. It also a model of the New Tokyo city[Tokyo-3] in the movie. Hakone-cho makes a special map for 聖地巡礼[Seichi-Junrei, Pop-culture tourism] tourists. It's free. Detail is written in LINK-1(JP), LINK-2(JP).
稲垣 早希[Inagaki Saki], the Asuka-cosplayed comedienne, goes to Hakone-cho for making tourism(?) videos. Please visit to the Yahoo-JP special site for watching videos (I can recommend!).
*Seiko
offers a NERV themed watch.
*Asahi shoes
offers EVA themed sneakers.
*Lotteria
offers special tumblers.
*Pizzahut
has a tie-up campaign.
[2009.06.14 update]
I add watch, sneakers, tumbler, and Pizzahut info.
